About Haychboun Cross
The Hashboun Cross is a religious center belonging to the Waqf al-Fatahat (Endowment of the
Openings) and is located on a property in Assia village. The site is distinguished by its
breathtaking natural beauty, situated on the last hill and mountaintop, offering a stunning view
of central Batroun and the coast. The entire region can be observed from this strategic vantage
point.
The structure was originally built by Father Boutros Lahkaziya, who lived there and considered
it a spiritual and geographical observation point. He passed away recently. Upon his death, the
property remained under the ownership of the Waqf al-Fatahat, and the cross became officially
associated with this endowment.
The cross can be reached by car via a paved road or on foot via a hiking trail that passes
through picturesque landscapes, making the journey a delightful experience combining
spirituality and nature.
The cross is not merely a religious landmark, but also a cultural and geographical symbol that
connects nature and spirituality. Its strategic location and breathtaking views of the
surrounding area make it a popular destination for visitors and worshippers alike.
