About Saint Saba Monastery
Among the places where I feel the most spiritual peace is the Mar Saba Monastery. Here, the stones tell a story of a past untouched by time, a resilience deeply etched into the earth of this village in Asia, nestled amidst its mountains and the silence of nature. This place was a beacon for the soul before the ravages of time left it in ruins, a silent witness to its former glory. In 2014, thanks to the determination of the Mar Stephan Committee in Bchaaleh, the stones were rebuilt as they once were, connecting the past to the present, so that the spirit that built this place remains alive. And every September 25th, the feast day returns, carrying the scent of time and the fervor of faith. Today, if you visit this land, you will feel a powerful pull and a profound sense of peace, as if you are standing at the gates of heaven. Even these ancient stones, silent guardians of the place's secrets and memories, add a touch of history, faith, and contemplation to its magic.
